This place had a high quality meat. A number of us held our fantasy football draft here and the service was great, the meat was fantastic, but the sauce isn't my favorite. It's a good time to be sure.

I like several BBQ joints in Kansas City... and I will say that the only bad one isnt even from Kansas City...And who goes around claiming they are famous anyway? Thats like the kid who came up with his own nickname in elementary school, and ate his boogers during reading time. I think that Zarda BBQ Is probably my personal favorite, and is to me, the definition of Kansas City BBQ. I do not see how anybody could say that they "refuse to serve people if they are busy"...Does that even make sense? Would a business refuse to serve if they are busy? Are they not there to make money?...and if they are busy...and there is a long line...doesnt that mean they are good? In all honesty....Zarda Has around 6 people with individual registers up front checking people out. Most I others I have seen have maybe two...and some even have one. Those place will get lines because only one person is able to take thier order. If Zarda has a line with its 6 people taking orders at one time and they were so busy they refused to take orders...hmm...that must have been some crowd in there...and they must be doing something right. I have seen wal-mart have less registers open than that. If you dont want to stand in line, how about you go on down the street and get a nice Arby-Q for 99 cents. I think that would be a little more your speed.

It's kind of funny to read that the service is bad because they "refuse to help you when the lines are backed up" -- that sounds a lot like a movie theater....you go to a popular movie (so do a lot of other people) and the lines just naturally back up. It's always a bummer to wait, but to wait because a place is good enough to be popular - that doesn't bother me. Just went to a wedding and the food was wonderful and very fancy considering it was barbeque. Was surprised to see it was Zarda. I didn't really think about them as a fancy caterer - but this was really nice. They were cooking ribs over slabs of granite and it was really cool looking.

Zarda barbeque is lousy in all areas od service. They refuse to help you when lines are way backed up. The service there is lousy and you don't get a good deal for the price you pay.

Zarda barbecue is a cornerstone in Kansas City Barbecue. Since Zarda Barbecue is arguably the best barbecue in Kansas City and Kansas City is the barbecue capitol of the world; by logic, Zarda ranks right up there as the best barbecue in the world. They have the best ribs I have ever eaten. They blow away Fiorella's and annihilate KC Masterpiece. Their beans....oooohhhh so good, with small chunks of meat in them. Lastly, their burnt ends. Great burnt ends. In all, I'd have to say that Zarda is the true spirit of Kansas City barbecue.
